How to Handle Stress – A Terrific Technique

Think of a movie (or book) you know you really ‘got into’ – comedy or drama, it doesn’t matter which.

The important thing is that you become totally INTO it. Forget yourself, be part of the story.

When you really become one with the plot – really INTO it – suddenly move your awareness back to day-to-day reality again.

Now, once again, connect with the story but this time also remain aware of being yourself. You know you’re watching a movie (or reading a book).

Now hold on to the awareness of both for a few moments, then again focus on the plot, forgetting day-to-day reality.

Repeat this process at least 3 more times.

Why? Because this allows you to become comfortable with the feeling of moving out of and back into day-to-day reality.

Why would you choose to do this?

Because when “life” is stressful you can become the “Observer” and become quite detached from worries, stresses, concerns.

It’s much easier to remain calm in even the most stressful situations when you are in this removed position, the Observer.
